Erling Haaland is making history at the ongoing FIFA World Cup, and Google paid tribute to the 25-year-old striker with a special celebratory visual of the Viking Row.
What happened?
Haaland posted on X that he had only one thing to do for the day: search his name on Google.
The visual means that whenever someone searches Haaland's name on Google, they can also see a Norwegian Viking animation performing the Viking Row on screen.
Why it matters for Erling Haaland
The Viking Row is a traditional Norwegian celebration which the entire team performed after their historic win over Brazil on July 9, 2026.
Haaland himself led the celebrations, standing in front of thousands of Norwegian fans who had attended the game.
The Manchester City striker was joined by the fans and the rest of the team, who howled and rowed at every beating of the drum.
What comes next?
Norway will now take on England, and can be forgiven for being optimistic about their chances.
They showed a remarkable willingness to defend for long stretches of the game against Brazil, and took the two major chances they had.
Haaland and co. will be well aware that they will need to produce a similarly stellar display at the back against England.
And if they succeed, one can expect another memorable Viking Row to ensue post-game.
The Viking Row is usually led by the team captain, Martin Odegaard, but he passed the drumstick to Haaland post-game as a tribute to his legendary performance.
Haaland got both goals in what was a 2-0 win, arguably the biggest win in Norway's history.
Norway qualified for the tournament for the first time since 1998, and while nobody expected them to go on such a fairytale run, they not only qualified for the knockouts but also beat five-time champions Brazil.
Haaland's performance has made him arguably the biggest legend of all time in Norwegian football history, and the chapter is not even yet over.
